During the COVID-19 crisis, the EU developed a wide range of health policy responses and initiatives, while also tackling the economic fallout of the pandemic. Many difficulties were encountered, but while some of them have been addressed, longer-term solutions are needed for mitigating future health crises.
This is one of the key messages in the opinion: “Emerging stronger from the pandemic: acting on the early lessons learnt”. As part of the study group Sif Holst was instrumental in bringing attention to uneven impact of the pandemic and the serious impact that is the pandemic has had on people with a disability and other vulnerable groups. And we need to learn from this if we want to emerge stronger.
